Edna’s illusion about her place in the Upolu alliance was shattered by Brandon at last week’s tribal council when he callously announced she was next on the chopping block after Cochran. Edna did not take the news well and confronted Coach the next morning. Coach didn’t offer any real comfort and was saved from discussing the problem further by Brandon’s announcement of Sprint tree mail.
With a Sprint phone in tow, all six of the Upolu tribe members headed to the Redemption duel between Cochran and Ozzy. The challenge begins with Cochran and Ozzy using grappling hooks to retrieve three bags from the sand. They must then use pulleys to guide the ball through a difficult maze without letting the ball fall through holes.
Ozzy quickly retrieves all three bags and gets to work on the maze. With helpful tips from Rick, Cochran also makes short work of retrieving his bags. He catches up to Ozzy in the maze portion, but Ozzy pulls through with another win. Cochran becomes the next jury member.
Ozzy is then faced with a tough decision. He must choose three tribe members to return to Redemption Island to spend time with their family members. Ozzy picks Albert, Coach and Brandon. The four are joined by Albert’s mom, Coach’s brother and Brandon’s dad. The head to Redemption Island to take pictures with the Sprint phone and spend time with their loved ones.
The immunity challenge involves a giant pineapple shaped game board with multiple levels. Each tribe members moves around the game board by turning over pieces. They cannot step on any piece twice. They are eliminated when they run out of moves. In the middle of the game Brandon admits his strategy was not to win immunity, but to insure Edna didn’t win. Coach was the last man standing and won the immunity necklace.
Back at camp, Edna used Brandon’s mean remark during the challenge to try to convince Coach, Sophie and Albert to send him packing instead of her. They seemed to seriously consider it, but at tribal council they all stuck to the original plan. Edna was sent to Redemption Island.
