Lauren Scruggs’ family says the model and fashion blogger is making big steps in her recovery from severe injuries sustained in an accident last weekend. According to an update on Scruggs’ Caring Bridge website, the 23-year-old walked Wednesday morning with the help of a physical therapist.
"This morning ... the physical therapist assisted Lauren in walking for the first time,” the post read. "Once she got halfway there, she said, '30.' Not sure what she meant, [her family] asked her what that means, she replied, 'Steps!' What a praise, she was counting every step that she took!"
“The left eye is still non-responsive, the doctors will continue monitoring it for the next few days. Also, please pray her Lauren as she begins to learn the extent of her injuries and continue to pray away all infections,” the family added.
According to reports, Scruggs had just landed at a private airport in McKinney, Texas Saturday night following a short trip to view Christmas lights from the air when she walked directly into the plane’s spinning propeller. The blades sliced her left hand, shoulder and face. She underwent multiple emergency surgeries, including a left hand amputation
