A gunman randomly shooting at cars driving south of Sunset Boulevard on Vine Street in Hollywood, California has been killed by police. The unidentified man was fatally shot Friday morning after firing at least 9 rounds into passing cars.
Witnesses say the man was shouting “Kill me,” “I want to be killed” and “I’m gonna die” as he fired his gun. He pulled out a knife after running out of bullets. One man in a Mercedes was shot and taken to a nearby hospital. At least two other cars had been hit by bullets. It is unclear if anyone else was wounded.
Police cordoned off the area and covered the gunman’s body with a sheet. Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the attack. No other details were immediately available.
