Just two weeks after being arrested for DUI, Morrow Police Chief, Jeff Baker turned in his letter of resignation. He was due to meet with Jeff Eady, the town’s city manager in just a few days, presumably to be fired.
Baker was arrested at the end of November when Clayton County police discovered him sleeping behind the wheel of his government-owned vehicle. One of his own officers found him and noticed that he had a several open containers in his vehicle.
A member of the police force should be aware that breaking a DUI law is not only dangerous to other drivers but can a negative impact on his future. The best chance he has for diminishing that impact is retaining a Georgia DWI attorney for defense.
While questioning, Baker the officer note that his eyes were red and glassy, his speech was slurred and strong smell of alcohols was present inside the car. The court report also alleges that when Baker woke up he put his car in reverse and drove to the Morrow police department.
Baker not only lost his job but he is also facing several criminal charges including DUI, open container, along with several traffic infractions.
It is in the best interest of the person accused of intoxicated driving, to find a highly-skilled Georgia DWI lawyer. A person’s future job prospects and personal liberties are in jeopardy unless they choose to contact a Georgia DWI attorney, who will make arguments in their favor that could lead to reduced charges.
