Los Angeles To Host Several Fourth of July Fireworks Displays This Weekend

The Los Angeles metropolitan area will play host to several fireworks displays for the 4th of July this weekend.

The 105th Annual Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Show will take hundreds of people down the streets of Huntington Beach, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The parade, which is billed as “the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi River”, will go from 10am to 12pm.  It commences as the top event for the 2009 Pier Festival, which will take place all weekend.

The parade will feature more than 300 entries including bands, floats, local dignitaries, equestrians, film and television celebrities and community groups. Following the parade, K-EARTH 101 will broadcast live entertainment from the Pier.

The fireworks display will begin at 9pm. VIP seating for the fireworks costs $10. Lake Park Bleachers seating for the parade costs $15.

The Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena in LA. The 60-minute display will begin at 9pm and admission is free.

The fireworks display is the biggest in the city of Los Angeles and will be seen across the LA skyline as the city celebrates Independence Day.

Other events include the 4th of July celebration at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina in Newport Beach and the LA Galaxy Annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Home Depot Center in Carson.
