Wimbledon 2009 Semifinals finals Results: Roger Federer Advances to Record 7th Straight Finals at All England Club with Straight Set Win Over Tommy Haas

Roger Federer has advanced to the Wimbledon finals for a record seventh straight time after knocking off Tommy Haas in the straight sets 7-6 (7-3), 7-5, 6-3 on Friday at the All England Club, setting up the possibility of setting the Grand Slam singles victory record he currently shares with Pete Sampras.

Federer relied heavily on his ability to control the match with his first serve as he won 89 percent of his first offering put in play while hammering out 11 aces and offering no break point opportunities. The Swiss star collected 49 winners compared to 28 for Haas.

Federer is sitting on 14 career Grand Slam singles titles, tying him with Pete Sampras for most all time. He recently captured his first title at the French Open, marking a career Grand Slam for Federer as he has won Wimbledon five times, the U.S. Open five times and the Australian Open three times.
