Shock jock Howard Stern has a new tile – judge. NBC announced Thursday Stern has joined the America’s Got Talent judge’s panel.
"Howard Stern's larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America's Got Talent starting this summer. He's a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success,” the network said in a statement.
Stern replaces Piers Morgan, who announced his departure from the show last month. Morgan said he wanted to focus on his CNN talk show Piers Morgan Tonight. Judges Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel will return for the upcoming seventh season as well as host Nick Cannon.
A new judge is not the only change in store for America’s Got Talent. The live portion of the show will tape in New York City, where Stern is based, instead of Los Angeles.
