Andy Roddick has advanced to the finals at Wimbledon after a four set battle against Andy Murray, winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-5) on Friday. Roddick will now play in his third career Wimbledon finals and face Roger Federer, the man who handed him losses in his first two appearances.
Roddick relied heavily on his first serve and kept Murray on his heels as he put 75 percent of those offerings in play and won 77 percent of those. The American also refrained from costly mistakes as he committed just one double fault while Murray finished with five double faults to offset an impressive match that include 25 aces and 76 winners.
Roddick has one Grand Slam singles title, the 2003 U.S. Open, while he has reached two Wimbledon finals and the U.S. Open finals in 2006, all three finals losses came at the hands of Roger Federer.
