Mountainside has done an excellent job incorporating its mountain into the treatment programming. Our Therapeutic Challenge program inspires residents to learn new ways to have fun while helping to discover new ways to think about and solve life’s problems. These several programs along with many others such as Art therapy, Change in Action programs as well as many others offer the recovering individual new ways to tackle problems that used to seem insurmountable.
Mountainside’s mission is to offer the recovering individual every possible chance to live a life free of dependence of any substance. Our mountain offers every aspect of nature and all of its beauty. Residents have the option of visiting our beautiful waterfall, as well as exploring other amazing aspects of our grounds. By showing the recovering individual new ways to fill their time with healthy activities will provide them with the best chance to be happy and live a life drug and alcohol free.

Mountainside was invited to the Whitehouse in 2005 by Drug Czar John Walters who announced his curiosity as to how Mountainside was capable of providing so much to so many.
