Epic Records has revealed that the band formed from CBS’s hit show Rock Star: Supernova will now be called Rock Star Supernova.
Originally slated to perform as Supernova, the band had to ditch the name after a judge ruled the foursome could not violate a California trio’s right to the name. According to the judge, the band consisting of Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, Gilby Clarke and new frontman Lukas Rossi had to refrain from “performing rock and roll music, or recording, or selling rock and roll music recordings” as Supernova.
The band is slatted to release their debut album in November and headline a New Year’s Eve bash in Las Vegas.
