Jon Bon Jovi Jokes About Death Hoax

A false report stating Jon Bon Jovi died circulated on the Internet Monday, sparking concern among the rocker’s fans. The report, posted on dailynewbloginternational.com, claimed Bon Jovi, 49, died in New Jersey during a tour stop. The news was then re-posted on Twitter and Facebook.

The report appeared to be partially copied from a 2009 Los Angeles Times press release about the death of Michael Jackson. The LA Times said they were not involved in Monday’s Bon Jovi death hoax and are looking in to the apparent plagiarism of the Michael Jackson death report.

Bon Jovi joked about the hoax on Twitter. He posted a picture of himself standing in front of a Christmas tree holding a sign that reads, "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey.”

Also on Monday, the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il apparently confused some Twitter users who posted messages about rapper Lil’ Kim passing away.  The confusion stemmed from the fact that some Tweeters, including TV host Bill Maher, jokingly referred to Jong-il as Lil’ Kim due to his small stature.
