Anthony Weiner, who resigned from Congress after admitting to Tweeting a picture of his bulging crotch in a pair of boxers, reportedly became a father this week. The New York Post reports Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday. Jordan Zane Weiner weighed in at just over 7 lbs. He is the first child for Weiner and Abedin, who wed in 2010.
Weiner, 47, has remained out of the media spotlight since the picture scandal in late July. The former New York congressman announced his resignation in June after admitting to Tweeting the crotch picture to a Washington state woman and carrying on “inappropriate conversations” with at least 6 women over “Twitter, Facebook, e-mail and occasionally on the phone.”
"I have made terrible mistakes," he said at the time. "I have not been honest with myself or my family. ... I should not have done this, and I should not have done this particularly when I was married."
Abedin’s pregnancy was revealed shortly after the scandal. The couple has not commented on the birth of their son.
