Will a Christian Rehab Tell Me I'm A Bad Person?

Addiction Recovery Starts with Letting Go of Shame

Shame and guilt are, unfortunately, a hallmark of addiction. Many addicts who contemplate a Christian rehab program worry that they will be labeled a bad person, but Christian rehab teaches addicts that they are forgiven and have a chance of renewing their spiritual health. All things are possible with God.

It is important for addicts to understand that addiction is a disease, not a personality fault or a weakness. Christian rehab approaches addiction treatment with the idea that every person is a new creation and the slate can be wiped clean. Recovery is possible for every addict with a Christian rehab program.  In Matthew 11:28 we read , "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Christian rehab encourages addicts to read the Bible and learn what the Scripture says about forgiveness and redemption. Addiction does not have to define a person, but the way they approach their recovery should be done with grace and determination. God understands that every person makes mistakes, and Christian rehab believes that a fresh start is within everyone's reach.  The Bible says, in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come."

Addiction treatment will not be easy, nor will recovery happen quickly or without effort. Christian rehab strives to help every addict rebuild their physical, emotional and spiritual health, while helping them develop a stronger relationship with God. It will be worth every moment.
