Where Have All The Good Girls Gone

The Elite Daily Guide To Life

Where Have All The Good Girls Gone?

Don’t lie – you’ve all got that one girl on facebook that you’re dying to sleep with. You’ve seen her pictures, you know she’s got an amazing body, you’ve done the healthy or not-so-healthy amount of routine facebook stalking and you would be more than happy to get in her pants.

Mirror pictures in her bathing suit, pictures from Halloween in a revealing costume made from duct tape, and an album of photobooth pictures revealing every seductive face she can make, have reeled you in. She’s definitely a winner, right?

It’s standard, now, if not necessary, to research that hot girl you met at a party last night and said three words to. It’s commonplace to search that easy girl your friend mentioned and click through all her tagged pictures. But maybe that’s not such a good thing?

What happened to the appeal of classy women? Are classy women becoming extinct? The idea of “sexy” is definitely changing; the image of the the scandalous slut is overshadowing the image of the provocative woman, forcing us into the dark or even worse converting our weaker members to the darker, more raunchy side.

The fake, trashy, slutty side.

And by us I mean women, or women with some semblance of dignity, maybe. Yes, this article is written by a woman, but don’t let that scare you. This article isn’t meant to make you into feminists, and it’s definitely not telling you to find that polite girl, settle down, and forget all the fun sexual stuff.

Here’s my point: Facebook and new media have killed sexuality. Or maimed it, at least. Everyone’s so hungry for twitter followers that the trashiest girls are the most appealing. The internet has made every girl think she’s a model. If you don’t have a picture of how amazing you look in your swimsuit up for everyone to see, you’re probably not very good looking, right? I mean, why wouldn’t you prove it?

Because confidence is one of the biggest turn-ons, and you know it. We know it. Don’t tell me there’s no allure in a chick who knows she’s hot and didn’t need you to “like” every one of her profile pictures to figure it out. There’s something about leaving things to the imagination which makes things ten times more interesting. Facebook is bringing an end to mystery and moderation. If seeing a bunch of duckface pictures isn’t enough bonerpoison to send you running, then the mobile uploads of her cleavage should definitely tell you that she’s not a keeper.

Now I know the girls you sleep with are probably not the girls you’re trying to marry. But I’m trying to tell you that the pretty girl in sweater might be a better catch than that girl with her boobs all up in everyone’s face – in the long run, at least.

Come on guys, don’t you remember the good old days when you dreamt of bringing the perfect girl home to meet your mother? She had to have class, be polite, beautiful, respectable and, most of all, she had to be a genuine lady.

Or maybe I’ve been watching too many old movies – black and white cinema featuring gorgeous, classy women who carry themselves with elegance and dignity. If these former leading ladies ever took a look at the female role models of today, they’d be outright disgusted. The way many women present themselves today is a true disappointment.

Alexa Chung, a British model and television host, says, “…its a shame that this image of sexuality and women has formed around fake tans and facebook sluts…I think it’s more exciting to reveal less. Maybe wear layers of smocks and then have super-sexy underwear on. Dress like a pilgrim on the outside and a whore underneath.”

I know of a girl who has slept with 18 men by the time she was 19 years old and had no shame in admitting it, another girl who makes sure to have a one night stand anytime shes on every vacation and on every holiday, and another girl who can’t have a fun night without a cocktail of ecstasy and cocaine.

It is time for men to put their foot down and say, “WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD GIRLS GONE?!”

I think Ludacris had the right idea when he said, “I want a lady in the street, but a freak in the bed.” There’s less allure in knowing she’s a freak in the bed and more allure in having to figure it out. So the next time you get all hot and bothered over that girl whose tata’s frequent your news feed more than her face does, remember this – classy women still exist, and they’re just as willing to have a little fun.
