Texas A&M linebacker killed in accident with 18-wheeler

The family and fellow teammates are mourning the loss of Joseph Villavisencio, who was killed Thursday after a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler.

Villavisencio was traveling home to Jacksonville, Texas, on Highway 39 when witnesses say he swerved to avoid a buzzard in the roadway. He turned his car into the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler and was hit head-on.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

He will be missed by his teammates and coach, who say Villavisencio was one of the most respectful and high character players he had ever worked with.

Villavisencio was a senior majoring in radiological health engineering. He is survived by a sister and his mother and father.

Accidents are often inevitable, especially when some many people will be hitting the roads this holiday season to visit friends and family. It is important that the holiday travelers pay careful attention to make certain they and their families arrive safely to their destinations.

Fatalities and serious injuries can occur frequently in traffic accidents. An accident attorney will fight to receive fair compensation for victims of these tragedies if cause by another’s negligence or distraction.

Accident attorneys have special experience in dealing with the particulars of traffic accidents. No amount of money can make up for years of pain and suffering or the loss of a loved one. However, a settlement obtained with the help of an accident lawyer can ease the financial burdens of accident victims and their families.
