The term “ADHD” refers to “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder”. It is also known as “ADD” which means “Attention Deficit Disorder”. ADHD/ADD are disorders that appear in early childhood. These spontaneous responses include every activity from movement to speech attentiveness.

ADHD/ADD usually showcases in children below the age of 7 in diverse form. Many times, children with ADHD/ADD are usually inattentive. Again their overall activeness is adversely hampered. However, it is necessary to point out that because of the fact that a child has certain symptoms of inattentiveness or hyperactivity does not mean he or she has ADHD/ADD. Under the symptom of hyperactivity, the child constantly fidgets. He or she is always restless and disturbing in class or at home. He or she talks too much all the time to anybody around.

Under the symptom of Impulsivity, the child usually answers back a question without waiting to be called to do so. He or she is always in a hurry; he can’t wait for his turn to do something. He or she often interrupts others without qualms. The child behaves as a busybody; always intruding into other people’s privacy. He or she also finds it very easy to be angered.

Positive Effects

Indeed. ADHD/ADD irrespective of the challenges in children also has some positive effects on them. For instance, children with ADHD/ADD are usually very creative and imaginative. They can daydream their way to success in life. Again, such children are flexible to deal with due to their impulsive behaviors. They are also very enthusiastic in doing certain things they love to do. Such children also have usual energy and drive as a result of their restlessness.

Treatment and diagnosis

Children living with ADHD/ADD could be helped to live normal lives. The basis diagnosis used in detecting the disorder is via the signs as stated above. However, it is good to take the child to a medical professional in the field for assistance.

In Conclusion, children living with ADHD/ADD could also be helped in diverse ways. Parental encouragement and support is usually the surest way to correcting the disorder.
