Officials in Kyrgyzstan say at least 31 people were injured Wednesday when a Kyrgyzstan Airlines plane traveling from Bishkek crash-landed at an airport in Osh. The Tupolev Tu-134 aircraft was landing in thick fog when it suddenly skidded off the runway, overturned and caught fire. An airport spokesman reported a wing broke off during the accident.
Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire and removed all 82 passengers and 6 crew members from the wreckage. Of the 31 people injured, 17 were hospitalized. Authorities have not reported any deaths.
The cause of the crash is unclear and is under investigation. No other details were immediately available.
