Make social media a part of your 2012 legal internet marketing strategies

Internet marketing is critical in the information age and social media is an important tool for reaching millions of people. Surprisingly, a recent study commissioned by LexisNexis found that law firms are lagging behind their use of social media in their legal internet marketing endeavors.

In the study, 110 law firms were survey and they discovered that only 77 percent of those firm where using social media. Of the firms that do employ social media, LinkedIn was the most popular with Twitter coming in at a close second. Facebook came in third, with Google+ not even accounted for, even though they are gaining users. Don’t ignore social media; it has the potential to reach innumerable people and potential new clients.

Most legal internet marketing firms will integrate social media in their SEO methods and you will see you page’s ranking rise.

One area where lawyers are really lagging behind on is the use of videos and blogs. These are two very important tools and one of the things Google looks out when determining your page’s rankings. By adding new blog and video content on a daily basis, you will become more visible on major search engines.
