Private sober living is similar to private addiction treatment and recovery in that the client who enters the facility has specific needs that just can’t be met in the standard sober living facility. They prefer a more private setting to continue recovering in and in some cases, are looking for some of the “creature comforts” (amenities) that they are used to at home. The private sober living facility is a more comforting and relaxing environment compared to what standard sober living residences are like.
For the most part, private sober living homes are found in residential neighborhoods that are very beautiful and peaceful. Additionally, these residences offer the individual some of those amenities that they are used to which is also very comforting in nature. Typically, private sober living facilities can sometimes be very exclusive and oftentimes cater to the very well-to-do of society such as celebrities, politicians, sports figures, etc. However, these facilities are not for everyone as they can sometimes be cost-prohibitive.
Three primary benefits of private sober living
Compared to other types of halfway residences, the private sober living facility provides the recovering and transitioning individual with 3 key elements that most other residences of this nature do not. These include amenities that are high-quality and similar to what they are used to at home, a beautiful geographic location, and privacy. Pools and spas are not uncommon at these types of facilities but this isn’t always the case. The bottom line is that the person can continue recovering in privacy which provides them with more comfort.
You will typically find these private sober living facilities in a peaceful and serene setting, oftentimes in a beach, forested, or even a mountain setting. The purpose for this is to provide the individual with as much privacy as possible in a location that is somewhat off the beaten path and away from the crowds of the city. The more private the setting, the better off the individual will be and the easier they will be able to eventually make the transition back into society.
