The new season of The Bachelor kicked off last night with Ben Flajnik meeting 25 eligible bachelorettes for a cocktail party and the first rose ceremony. Before the meet and greet sessions outside the Bachelor mansion, Flajnik opened up to Chris Harrison about how his experience with Ashley Hebert on The Bachelorette helped change his attitude towards finding love.
“I’m very much a different man today. I’m completely and utterly available. If I find the woman of my dreams, yes [I'll propose],” he said.
Flajnik then met each woman before they entered the house. The stand out greetings came from Lindzi, who rode up to the mansion on a horse; Sarah, who gave Ben breath spray before scoring the first kiss of the season; and Brittney, who tricked Ben by having her grandmother pretend to be a contestant.
Inside the house, tension between the women escalated quickly when Jenna confronted Monica about her reasons for being on the show. After admitting she is not that impressed by Ben, Monica started flirting with Blakeley. She told Blakeley that she is “beautiful” and then asked for her number. Jenna continued complaining about Monica and eventually ended up locking herself in the bathroom. She was late for the rose ceremony, but somehow still received a rose.
In addition to Lindzi – who scored the first impression rose -- Jamie, Rachel, Blakeley, Emily, Kacey B., Casey S., Brittney, Erika, Shawn, Nicki, Jennifer, Elyse, Samantha, Courtney, Jaclyn, Monica, and Jenna all received roses from Ben. Shira, Amber B., Lyndsie J., Amber T., Dianna, Anna, and Holly were sent packing.
