Nearly two months after announcing their separation, Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from her husband of 2 years, Death Cab For Cutie singer Ben Gibbard. According to reports, the actress filed court papers on December 27. She listed the date of separation as October 31 and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
A rep for the New Girl actress confirmed the split in November. Deschanel, 31, and Gibbard, 35, were married in September 2009. No other details on their divorce were available.
Deschanel currently stars on the hit Fox comedy New Girl. Her role earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
