Jeremy Renner escaped a dangerous bar brawl Wednesday in Phuket, Thailand, but a member of the party he was with suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition. Renner’s rep says the actor was in no way involved in the fight.
"He was at the bar when the fight broke out and he exited," the rep tells E! News, adding Renner was not harmed.
The man seriously injured in the fight has been identified as Vorasit Issara, the general manager of the Sri Panwa Resort. Issara was at the bar with Renner, 40, and four other people. According to the Phuket Gazette, the brawl started around 4:30 a.m. after Issara, 31, dropped his glass on floor. He was attacked by six men and sustained stab wounds to the stomach and neck. Police arrested all six men and confiscated their weapons, which reportedly included clubs, knives, and a homemade axe made out of a motorcycle brake rotor. The suspects have been charged with attempted murder.
Renner, who currently stars alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol, is in Thailand to film the new Bourne movie.
