An accident involving a pick-up truck and another vehicle that fled the scene resulted in an explosion at a Shell gas station on Palm Beach Boulevard.
The accident happened shortly before 9am on Monday morning when a pick-up truck was rear-ended by another vehicle. The truck driver lost control and slammed into a gas pump of the Shell station. The pump caught on fire which spread to the truck. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle in time to avoid injury.
The impact of the crash moved the pump 15 feet from where it was located into the parking lot.
Witnesses say the vehicle that crashed into the truck sped off, but left behind a piece of its bumper. Police are trying to locate the driver.
