Avicii, also known as Tim Bergling, brought the New Year in right by headlining at the biggest NYE party that has ever happened in Manhattan. There were 11,000 fans in attendance at Pier 94 last Saturday.
The doors opened at 9pm and the first DJ to start spinning was Cazzette, who focused more on dubstep music than house. He was followed by Arty. By the time he had finished, 5 hours had gone by and Pier 94 was packed to the brim with fans waiting for Avicii.
Swanky Tunes took the stage after Avicii to end the long night of partying that 11,000 people just embarked on. This concert did not disappoint by any means. The amazing array of lights, smoke, balloons and music surpassed the high expectations they were given in the first place.
We were able to catch up with one fan as he was leaving, and he described the concert as “the most epic new years ever, hands down best night of my life.” It’s safe to say that anyone else who went to the show would agree.
Avicii took the stage at 2am and went on until about 5am. He is not foreign to performing in front of large groups of people so he was easily able to move and vibe with the crowd. He had fans jumping in the air from the moment he stepped on stage until he got off. Once again, Avicii stole the show.
