The Safecastle Freedom Awards is a contest of skill, recognizing the best original, web-based content of 2011, as related to survivalism and preparedness.
"We received several finalist entries from our various partner websites," said Vic Rantala, president of Safecastle LLC, a crisis preparedness outfitter. "They are all excellent; each one offering a different perspective on crisis preparedness. We are now in the process of determining the very best, original, web-based content of the year, as submitted to those hand-selected websites in the genre."
Specifically, Safecastle's Freedom Awards program aims to reward logic, ethics, and knowledgeable insight demonstrated in a compelling way, in both non-fiction articles and in short online videos.
Said Rantala, "With the unraveling state of the world, more and more people are drawn to the common sense appeal of 'just in case' preparedness planning and activities. We've found that everyone is essentially looking for some measure of peace of mind in a world at risk. Folks are turning to the web for information on how to be better prepared for crisis. We’re materially involved in enhancing the state of public preparedness on a number of levels, so this contest is a natural extension of that for Safecastle."
All finalists are receiving Freedom ward trophies, and now the grand prize winners are being decided, in part by public vote. To help decide the most deserving authors and videographers, simply go to: http://safecastle.blogspot.com/
