Mark Cavendish won his second straight stage in the Tour de France on Monday after finishing the 122-mile Stage 3 trek from Marseille to La Grande Motte in 5 hours, 1 minute and 24 seconds.
While Cavendish captured the day’s best time it was American Lance Armstrong who took the day as the seven-time Tour de France winner climbed from tenth overall to third after an impressive ride place dhim across the line in the same time as Cavendish.
Overall leader Fabian Cancellara retained the yellow jersey with a solid rid as well and now has a 33 second lead over Germany’s Tony Martin and a 40 second cushion over Armstrong.
