New Jersey trash collector killed in truck accident

A 38 year-old garbage collector was killed Monday by as he was attempting to climb onto the back of a garbage truck.

Police say that Teeshon Small, 38, was jumping on the back of the truck when he was hit and then run over. He died from his injuries on the scene.

Jamal Walker, 30, was behind the wheel. Police are still investigation the exact cause of the accident and have not filed any charges.

A private waste management company, Ace Environmental, is in charge of garbage collection in the fifth war. Kim Greene, Newark’s sanitation manager told NJ.com, “Being in the sanitation business is in the top ten as far as injury and death. It’s a serious business.”
