Suspected Serial Killer, Patrick Tracy Burris, Gunned Down by Police in North Carolina

North Carolina police shot and killed Patrick Tracy Burris, the suspected serial killer responsible for five murders in the small South Carolina town of Gaffney, during an attempted burglary at a home in Gastonia on Monday.

According to police bullets found in a gun belonging to Burris matched those used in the murders in South Carolina, leaving officials confident that they had put to rest the unsolved murders. Burris is now believed to have been responsible for killing five Gaffney residents over a six-day period.

Following the shooting death of Burris, 41, police revealed him to be a known criminal who had just been released on parole in April after serving eight years in prison.
