Oprah launches new channel on XM Satellite Radio

Oprah Winfrey has added a new medium through which fans can get their fill, a 24-hour channel on XM Satellite Radio. Monday marked the debut of Oprah’s newest outlet for reaching fans, an outlet that brings a sense of familiarity for the media mogul. Oprah was quoted as saying, “For me, being a part of XM Radio is a full-circle moment because I started out in radio when I was 16 years old, and now I'm able to share the airwaves with my friends.”

Her newest endeavor will pay her $55 million over 3 years and feature shows hosted by long time friends Bob Greene, Gayle King, Maya Angelou and others.

The “Oprah and Friends” network will focus primarily on finance, style, relationships and spiritual axioms, a menu that she has already turned into a billion dollar business through her television production company and print media.

The guest list set for the early weeks of programming include Donald Trump and Annette Bening.
