Harmful Drugs Getting Into U.S. Military

In the ranks of the military there is a new drug that can leave its users hallucinating for days and it is spreading.  This stated by the military officials.  It is synthetic marijuana known as “Spice”.  The investigation of over 700 marines and Navy sailors was because of this new drug.  The Air Force has punished 497 airmen in this year; because of this drug.  This reported by the Associated Press.

The Deputy Director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service stated to AP, “You can just imagine the work that we do in a military environment,” he also added that the military has a zero tolerance policy for drugs.

Louisiana drug rehabs have plenty experience dealing with these issues, since the state was a hotbed of designer drug use last year.

The synthetic marijuana “Spice” can make people paranoid, hallucinate, suicidal and can it can also cause long bouts of psychosis.  It has been noted that this drug is also increasingly popular to mainstream drug users.

This synthetic marijuana is a lot like “bath salts” which is another dangerous new drug.  Spice as well as bath salts was available legally in some states.  The state of Louisiana reported its abuse at the beginning of this year and the Governor took quick action to make it illegal.  People were going to the emergency rooms because of Spice and bath salts.  This drug is not a marijuana substitute and it is thought that this is why some people try it in the first place.  The Colorado District Attorney’s Office reported to the Denver Post that young people were getting it and bringing it to schools.  That is when they realized it was a significant problem.  Now it has gotten into our military.  I am sure it will be routed out.

Denver drug rehabs should prepare themselves for dealing with synthetic drug addiction.
