The St. Louis Rams have signed Jeff Fisher, formerly of the Tennessee Titans, as their new head coach. Fisher was in discussions with both the Rams and the Miami Dolphins and it seemed likely that he would be coaching in Miami as recently as Wednesday night.
The deal in Miami fell through when Fisher and the team could not agree on the structure of the organization. The Dolphins insistence that GM Jeff Ireland remain in the head position opened the door for Fisher to turn to St. Louis.
Fisher did not coach last year after being fired by the Tennessee Titans in January. He was with the Titans for 16 years going back to their time in Houston.
