The
techniques used for liposuction have
changed over the years and new techniques have been developed that cab give a
patient optimal results. A novel technique developed in
Body-jet
uses water to sculpt you figure and has been popular in Europe and
Body-jet
employs a jet of water to separate the fat from surrounding tissue. Since
Body-Jet uses water, there is no risk of burns. The fat is then suctioned out.
Many
physicians believe this is a gentler procedure with fewer traumas to the
surrounding area. It is also a beneficial procedure because it allows the
surgeon to harvest the fat to us in a fat transfer, where it is injected into
areas that need filling out like the breasts. More traditional techniques don’t
allow the surgeon to collect the fat tissue.
Some
cosmetic surgeons prefer this technique for repairing the flaws from previous liposuction procedures.
Because
the technique is gentler, patients find recovery is quicker with minimal pain,
which can be attributed to the fact it uses water to separate the fat tissue.
Once
a person has decided to have liposuction they should talk to their plastic
surgeon to figure out if water-assisted liposuction is right for them.
