Orlando woman charged with DUI after driving wrong way on highway

An 22 year-old Orlando woman was charged with DUI after driving the wrong way on State Route 408 and causing and accident.

Police spotted Shannon Brady driving the wrong way on S.R. 408 when she hit another car, causing it to crash into a guardrail and flip over on its side. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, but the vehicle has serious damages.

As the officer approached Brady’s car they said they noticed the overwhelming odor of alcohol. Brady had been to a friend’s house and a local restaurant. Brady told the officer she knew she was driving the wrong way but could not remember how she got there.

The officer’s report noted that Brady had blood shot eyes and slurred speech. The officer had to ask her two times to get out of her car to take field sobriety tests.

During the field sobriety tests Brady became combative. A blood alcohol test revealed that her blood alcohol level was.212. The legal limit in Florida is .08. Anyone arrested for being over the legal limit will need to contact an Orlando DUI attorney immediately.
