Why Women Love Men With Puppies

Men with puppies: This is definitely a trend I’ve been encountering in increasing amounts as a girl. Men are walking around with puppies in an effort to entice other women.

I must say, out of all the ploys men have used to attract women, this may be the first logical one. For once, their thinking pattern is on the right track.

Chuck Bass, from the hit TV Series Gossip Girl–the quintessential bachelor of New York City–knew exactly what he was doing when he adopted his infamous mutt Monkey. This single kind act counteracted all his previous scandalous behavior and made every girl across America fall in love with him… again. Why is it that woman are attracted to men who care for a dog?

Why Women Love Men With Puppies

First, women love a man that can handle the responsibility of caring for someone other than himself. If he has the time to train, feed, bathe, and–most importantly–show affection for his pooch, he is more to give a woman the attention she desires. A man who can care for a dog is a man who knows how to love, plain and simple. These are the guys that girls love to date because, I mean, who likes a man who isn’t affectionate?

Further, let’s be honest. Not that many people are skilled in the art of initiating conversation–especially sober; but having a dog by your side will provide you with an infinitely useful new best friend and wing man. Girls will flock to your pup to give him a little attention and you can use this to your advantage as a conversation starter. Also, it is a good idea to teach your pup some cute tricks that you can show off. This will definitely impress her.

Having a dog shows you have the amazing, sought-after quality of commitment. If a man has the patience to care for himself and his pooch he is more likely to be able to handle the responsibility of a long-term relationship. He must have patience and must be understanding to endure the trials of raising a young pooch, as there will be instances in which his pet will have an accident on his new expensive rug, or perhaps it eats his recently purchased Ferragamo leather shoes.

We know he would never punish the cute and cuddly puppy because it’s just too adorable and innocent! He’s going to have to be understanding, just like he will be to your sad puppy face after he sees the credit card bill.

So, you’re probably wondering, what dog is best for you? Now, be careful, because everybody knows that people tend to adopt dogs that resemble themselves in some way. Choose wisely. (Guys, definitely do your research before you take on this responsibility because it does take a lot to raise and nurture a puppy.) However, if you are looking for a cute and cuddly breed I would recommend a Malti-poo, French Bulldog, Pomeranian, or Yorkie.

If you’re interested in larger breeds, women absolutely adore Golden Retrievers, Great Danes, and–of course–mutts, as long as they’re well-groomed. Adopting a mutt says a lot about his character because not only does this guy take care of his dog, but he also rescued it from an animal shelter! What a sweetheart!

Look at Ryan Gosling, who is arguably the sexiest man on the planet. He rescued his dog, George, who is far from a pure bred canine.  But who cares about the breed? This mischievous mutt rocks a mohawk and even has his own celebrity fan page! (However, I do not suggest you make your dog a fan page.) Also, George recently made it onto the Jimmy Fallon show, where Gosling explained, “He’s more interesting than I am, so I thought it would be helpful.” Now, granted, we all know Gosling is good looking; but his image–as far as personality–just skyrocketed with his companion, George.

The definition of a dog: Man’s best friend… until he helps man find his other “special” friend. Here’s to hoping that a new, young pup can help you find yours.
