The number of high fashion collaborations with major retailers has been skyrocketing these days. Recently, we have seen Versace for H&M, Karl Lagerfield for Macy’s and Missoni for Target–just to name a few. Continuing this trend of successful collaborations, on February 5th Jason Wu is debuting his limited edition line with Target and it is sure to be amazing! You can find an early preview of his marvelous collection on the link below. We’re sure you’ll be thrilled and the prices are almost unreal.
Wu is best known for dressing Michelle Obama for the 2009 Inaugural Ball–a suitable honor reflective of his elegant, sophisticated, but still chic style. He expressed his excitement for the line in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, stating, “The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before.”
Now, I’m sure most of you unfortunately missed did the limited edition Missoni collection due to flocking fashionistas foraging store shelves to resell them for thousands on eBay. In light of this unfortunate circumstance, if you are in love with Jason Wu’s collection and have your eye on a fabulous piece, I suggest arriving at Target early as you are sure to find a scene as hectic as Black Friday. Online shoppers should take heed as well considering the site has crashed in the past from heavy traffic.
Savvy shoppers should also be prepared for Target’s upcoming designer collaboration with Miami’s premier fashion boutique, The Webster, unveiled Thursday the 12th. (The Webster, a 20,000 square foot boutique located in Miami Beach, is home to a wide assortment of designer brands.) It has been rumored that the line-up for this year’s upcoming special edition collections may feature Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, ensuring an epic collaboration.
For the Elite, fashionable man we have the upcoming David Beckham collection arriving on February 2nd. Women should be also anticipating this collaboration as Beckham will be modeling his own line–ensuring a plethora of shirtless billboards to feast their eyes upon.
