OJ Simpson loses Miami home to foreclosure

Former football player OJ Simpson, who is serving a 9 to 33 year prison sentence for kidnapping and armed robbery, is facing foreclosure of his four bedroom Miami home.

JP Morgan Chase began the foreclosure process on OJ’s home alleging he owes them over $725,000 in late fees, penalties and built-up overdue principle.

Simpson purchased the $522,000 home in 2000 but took out a $575,000 mortgage. Now JP Morgan is trying to collect and served Simpson at his home even though he is incarcerated in Lovelock, Arizona.

Somehow, Simpson found out about the foreclosure and is trying to keep the bank from auctioning off his five bedroom four bath home with a pool. His lawyers are working to avoid seizure of his Miami home.

Simpson was found not guilty of murdering his wife Nicole in 1994. Even though he was not charged with a crime related to her death, her family won a wrongful death civil suit against Simpson.

Simpson was sentenced to prison in 2008 for kidnapping and armed robbery; he will be eligible for parole in 2017.

Foreclosure is a frightening prospect for most people. A foreclosure lawyer can outline a person’s options for possible avoiding foreclosure. After evaluating your documents and finances, a foreclosure attorney will know if you will be able to remain in your home.

An accomplished foreclosure attorney can help a person keep their homes either through mortgage modification or challenging the bank in court.
