Shares of AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc. (NASDAQ: ASIA) surged
in trading on Friday after the Beijing, China-based company announced that it
received a going private proposal from a unit of private equity firm CITIC
Capital China Partners II LP.
AsiaInfo-Linkage shares rose to an intra-day high of
$12.49 on Friday before finishing the day 18.75% higher at $11.78 on above
average volume. The rally has pushed AsiaInfo-Linkage shares above their 50-day
moving average.
