Air Products & Chemicals Inc. APD

The potential for a rebound in its semiconductor business and cost savings were among the factors that led a KeyBanc analyst to raise his investment rating on Air Products & Chemicals Inc. on Wednesday.

KeyBanc Capital Markets analyst Michael Sison raised his rating on the company, which supplies oxygen and other gases for the industrial and medical sectors in addition to semiconductor materials industry, to "Buy" from "Hold" and set a price target of $80.

Sison said industry checks suggest "demand picked up stronger than expected" during the second calendar quarter in the company's chip segment.

He projected a 24 percent decline in volume for the three months ended in June, up from a previously estimated decline of 37 percent.

Sison also noted the Allentown, Pa. company's share price, which is down nearly 21 percent year-to-date and 37 percent over the past 12 months.
