Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, a Sprint PCS affiliate of Sprint Nextel, announced today the addition of a new cell site designed to enhance and expand Dauphin County’s access to the power of Sprint, America’s most dependable 3G network.1 The new tower site on South Harrisburg Street in Oberlin went live Friday, June 5th, giving businesses and residents on the south side of Harrisburg additional capacity and expanding network coverage along the Interstate 283 corridor. In March 2009, Shentel added a new antenna atop Holy Spirit Hospital (Senate Avenue) to boost coverage and capacity in the Camp Hill area. Previously, Shentel announced the siting of new towers in Bedford, Camp Hill, Carlisle, Chambersburg, Cumberland, Etters, Fairfield, Gardners, Halifax, Hershey, Lewisberry, Mifflintown, Millerstown, New Bloomfield, New Port, Schaefferstown, Thompsontown and Wiconisco. Collectively, these installations give more Dauphin County residents better access to the nation’s premier 3G network.
