The company’s expected to be the only major London-listed mining group not to scrap its dividend when it posts full-year results on last Wednesday, BHP Billiton was pursuing a hostile offer for Rio Tinto at the time, so did not load its balance sheet with as much debt.

BHP continues with its improvement on dividend policy, the company expected to be increased to 42 cents a share from 41 cents, giving a full-year dividend of 83 cents a share.
