Gilead Sciences Inc., one of the leading biopharmaceutical firm, which focuses on developing HIV therapies, will soon close its offices in Boulder and Westminster and about to lay off at least 66 people by the end of the year.

Nathan Kaiser, spokesman for Gilead, further announce last Wednesday that the company’s decision to close the offices was prompted by its decision to acquire Palo Alto, Calif.-based CV Therapeutics, for almost $1.4 billion.
The company is also making way to relocate about half of its Colorado employees to California. Gilead is said to have almost 139 staff in Boulder and Westminster.
