LSI Corporation today announced it has received the 2009 Kansas Pollution Prevention Award in the Recycling category from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment . In 2008, the company's electronic scrap recycling program reduced the amount of solid waste sent to Kansas landfills by more than 45 tons.

Kansas Pollution Prevention Awards are given annually to those individuals, communities or community groups, businesses, and industries that have made a significant impact on the environment by preventing pollution. LSI will be presented with the recycling award on August 19 at 12:15 p.m. during a luncheon at the 2009 Kansas Environmental Conference being held at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita.
