GenCorp Inc.
Former president of GenCorp Inc and the last of the direct descendants of the founding fathers of the Big Five tire companies that put Akron on the map died Tuesday afternoon in Akron.

Michael Gerald ''Jerry'' O'Neil, who was named president of General Tire in 1960 at age 38, had made his home in a gated community in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., for more than a decade, but never fully left Akron. Mr. O'Neil, who was 87, still maintained the family home on the west side of Akron, where he died shortly after 3 p.m.
