InterDigital, Inc. IDCC
InterDigital recently announced that its small-capitalization stocks plunged across the board as concerns about the economy had investors taking profits and abandoning the riskier, more volatile names.
Small caps, which are those with less than $2 billion in market capitalization, fared worse than their larger peers as the energy and materials sectors led the declines.
The broad decline, which began from the opening bell, didn't come as a surprise to many who said a correction was in order given the recent run-up in the markets.
