BHP Billiton plc, BBL - BHP Billiton execs Bonus Shares a Tidy Sum
BHP Billiton plc
BHP Billiton PLC shares in London usually trade at a discount to their Australian "limited" counterparts but they're still the stock of choice for senior execs collecting them as bonus or as they call it, "performance shares".
CEO Marius Kloppers not surprisingly topped the pops with 225,000 bonus shares but he also won the prize for biggest percentage shell-out to the tax man, at 47.4 per cent of his gross. He had to sell almost 120,000 of them.
CFO Alex Vanselow got the same bonus as Randolph, followed by group general manager Karen Wood with 80,000 of them. Oil boss Mike Yeager and chief commercial officer Alberto Calderon only reported on shares acquired via the group incentive scheme but still got more shares than most of us will ever own: Yeager got 26,460 and Calderon 29,133.
