iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund closed yesterday at $57.19. So far IWM has hit a 52-week low of $34.26 and 52-week high of $76.27. The IWM showing support around 56.31 and resistance in the 57.99 range. In the Investors Observer Select ETF and HOLDR list appears IWM. To the stock of look at a Sep '09 57 covered call (IQX IE) for a net debit in the $54.70 area.
This covered call has a 50 day duration, has provides a downside protection of 4.35% and a 4.20% assigned return rate for a 30.69% annualized return rate’s lower cost of stock hedge play use a longer term call option in place of the covered call stock purchase.
