Intel Corp. on Friday raised its third quarter revenue forecast to $9 billion, plus or minus $200 million.
The Santa Clara, Calif. company had earlier forecast a range of $8.5 billion, plus or minus $400 million.
Intel said it saw stronger than expected demand for microprocessors and chipsets. Intel conducts some of its research at the Albany NanoTech research campus, which is home to the state University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.
The gross margin percentage for the third quarter is expected to be in the upper half of the previous range of 53 percent, plus or minus two percentage points.
The company is scheduled to report its third quarter financial results on Oct. 13.
