Gas Prices In Alaska Are Highest In Nation At Close To $6.00 Per Gallon While Texas Offers Lowest Price At $3.02

Bethel, Alaska has the highest average gas price in America, with a high price of $5.94 a gallon as of September 20, 2012

GasPriceWatch.com reports that the highest price for a gallon of gas in America can be found in Bethel, Alaska at $5.94 a gallon.  That compares with the lowest price per gallon in America of $3.02 a gallon in Sealy, Texas.  The difference in prices would mean a consumer with a 25 gallon gas tank would pay $75.50 to fill up their tank in Sealy, Texas, and just under $150.00 to fill up their tank in Bethel, Alaska.  The current U.S. average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.84 a gallon according to GasPriceWatch.com, with reporting coming in from over 100,000 individual gas stations across over 15,000 towns and cities in the U.S.
As reported yesterday by GasPriceWatch.com, saving just .10 a gallon would result in American's spending close to $37.5 million dollars less per day on gasoline.
