Intel Corporation INTC, implements WANdisco's Subversion MultiSite to support developers in US and China
Intel Corporation
Chip maker Intel said its Consumer Electronics Group has chosen Subversion MultiSite, from distributed software development solutions provider WANdisco, to support over 1,000 developers in Shanghai, Oregon and Arizona.
According to Intel, before implementing Subversion MultiSite the three teams used one central Subversion server, but slow and unreliable networks between the US and China caused delays throughout the development lifecycle.
With Subversion MultiSite the latest changes are available everywhere and everything happens at local area network speed. Problems are found and fixed when they occur, reducing QA and rework. In addition, downtime for maintenance went from over two hours each day to zero because of the solution's hot backup, failover and automated recovery features. As a result, development cycle time and cost have been reduced by over 30%, Intel said.
