Bank of America Suspends Funding to ACORN

Bank of America has said they have suspended its corporate sponsorship with the community-organization ACORN and will not be providing any future funding to the group “pending assessments by the bank of the organization's operations.”

The decision to “suspend current commitments” comes as ACORN faces continued public criticism over recently released videos which document workers giving advice on evading taxes, skirting the law on prostitution and smuggling illegal immigrants for prostitution purposes.

While ACORN has fired those workers who appeared in the videos the organization has found itself in defense mode as the federal government has already stopped funding their initiatives.

In a report published by The Wall Street Journal a spokesman for Bank of America said the institution “will not enter into any further agreements with ACORN or any of its affiliates” while it investigates their relationship further.
